The Subway

Here’s a photo I captured on a long and lonely subway ride. It was about midday when we entered the train headed from Brooklyn back to Manhattan to meet our dinner reservations in Central Park. Though the station was packed this train didn’t seem to be the destination for most. A quiet car made its way back to the city with only a few of us in tow. I turned my head around to see just how empty this car was and that’s when I saw it. This beautiful orange seat, the strong light overhead, and not a soul near it. I quickly grabbed my camera and prepared my frame to capture this moment. Sitting down to edit this one I could only be reminded of Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. The Orange And Green the movie gives to us, and the loneliness of a deranged man. With those thoughts in my head I got to work on the edit, and man am I proud of it.

I will be adding this one to the store fairly soon here, if you’d like to have a print of this for your very own. I appreciate anyone that supports my art, not just through monetary means but by reading this blog, sharing with your friends or just by looking at my work. Thank you.
